Available from these sellers. The USB-eLicenser (formerly 'Steinberg Key') is a copy protection unit (sometimes called 'dongle') which is needed to use Steinberg's software range. With the host applications Cubase, Nuendo and WaveLab, the USB-eLicenser is already included in the product package. Uninstall eLicenser Control.exe is the eLicenser Control's primary executable file and it occupies circa 5.72 MB (5994803 bytes) on disk. The following executables are installed together with eLicenser Control.

The eLicenser Control Center is a utility that allows for managing music software licenses by a variety of manufacturers.

Via the eLicenser Control Center licenses can be downloaded and stored on a USB-eLicenser (dongle, license key) or in a Soft-eLicenser (virtual license container on hard disk). Many licenses can also be transferred to other eLicensers via the eLicenser Control Center. Possible license transactions depend on the respective software and license.

Most issues with Soft-eLicensers or USB-eLicensers, activation codes and licenses can easily be solved by installing the latest eLicenser Control Center.

Cubase AI : Program Installation Does Not Create a Soft-eLicenser Number

NOTE: the number is 2 ten digit strings of numbers and letters dived by a hyphen.
PLEASE NOTE: This FAQ was intended for customers that purchase and use their products in the United States (not including territories) only. Yamaha Corporation of America will not be able to help you activate your software if you're outside the U.S.

Licenses for many Steinberg programs are stored in the so called Soft-eLicenser, a virtual license container on the hard disk. In the eLicenser Control Center - the license managing tool used by all Steinberg programs - the Soft-eLicenser is represented by a hard disk symbol. Each Soft-eLicenser has an unique number which is required for the program activation.

Problem

In rare cases, the Soft-eLicenser cannot be created during the installation. If the Soft-eLicenser is missing the activation code needed for the permanent activation of the program cannot be requested. Downloading licenses is also not possible without a Soft-eLicenser (unless an USB-eLicenser is connected).

Solution

The solution requires three steps:

1. Uninstalling the program you want to activate (for example, Cubase Elements).
2. /pcdj-karaoki-torrent.html. Running the 'eLC Installation Helper'. This little tool creates the condition for a successfull reinstallation.
3. Reinstalling the program you want to activate.

Please follow these instructions:

Mac

1) Close all programs.

2) Uninstall the program you want to activate by moving it from the Applications folder to the Trash.

3) Download this file: 'elc-installation-helper.zip'

CAUTION: Only use the special installer if you cannot proceed the activation due to a missing Soft-eLicenser! The eLC Installation Helper will delete an existing Soft-eLicenser and all contained licenses without recall!

4) Unzip the downloaded file and run the contained program 'eLC Installation Helper.app' by double-clicking on it.

5) Click on 'Uninstall' and enter your password.
6) Finally, re-install the program you want to activate as usual.

Next time you start the eLicenser Control Center the newly created Soft-eLicenser will be displayed.

Windows

1) Close all programs.
2)Uninstall the program you want to activate via Windows Control Panel:

3) Download the eLC Installation Helper:

Caution: Only use the eLC Installation Helepr if you cannot proceed the activation due to a missing Soft-eLicenser! The eLC Installation Helper will delete an existing Soft-eLicenser and all contained licenses without recall!

4) Double-click on the downloaded file to start the reinstallation of the eLicenser Control Center.
5) Please note that the eLC Installation Helper can only be executed if your Windows user account has administrative rights! If you are logged in to an Windows user account with limited rights you will be promted to provide an administrator's username and password.
6) Finally, re-install the program you want to activate as usual.

Next time you start the eLicenser Control Center the newly created Soft-eLicenser will be displayed.

If the eLC Installation Helper failed to create a Soft-eLicenser the 'Data Execution Prevention' of Windows might be the reason. Please check its setting according to this instruction:

1) Open the Windows Control Panel.

2) Windows XP: Click on 'System'; Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8: Click on 'System and Security', then on ' System' and finally on 'Advanced system settings' in the list of options to the left.

3) The window 'System Properties' pops up.
4) On the 'Advanced' tab click under 'Performance' on 'Settings.'.

5) The window 'Performance Options' pops up.

6) On the 'Data Execution Prevention' tab make sure the 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only' is selected!

7) Close the window by clicking on 'OK' and, if prompted, restart your computer.

8) Finally, run the eLC Installation Helper once again following the instruction above.
