So after months of trying to reinstall I have figured out whats wrong. every time I try to instal i get a message.

I decided this morning to copy all files from cd to hard drive the only one that wouldn't do it is on disc one, under disc one (Data2.cab).
Does any one have any advice how i would uncorrupted it, or where i can just get a new data2.cab.

The problem means the disk is dirty, scratched or the data layer is cracked. The latter is unfortunately irrepairable.
If the disk is dirty you can clean it by rinsing in clean water (no soap) and dry with a lint-free cotton cloth.
If scrathes are not too serious they can be repaired by very gently polishing the scratch with a little toothpaste. Polish either in tiny circles or from the center of the disk and outwards. Rinse as above and try if it worked, if not try polishing a bit more. If you polish too much or use too much pressure while polishing you will damage the laquer layer beyond repair. What happens when you polish is the scratch is 'leveled out' thereby making it easier for the drive to read the data where the scratch is.
Some places libraries will polish a disk with a special polishing machine if one asks and offers to pay. There's also a game shop called GameCrazy where they help people polishing a disk that is damaged.
If polishing the disk does not work then the only option left is buying the game again. Luckily it's very cheap now and can be got for about US$20.
Stronghold 2 Deluxe is the original version of Stronghold 2 but with the first 2 (think it is) patches allready applied.
